Each week at Boxford Academy, Wednesday is set aside to pursue another type of learning. We put away the books and pick up all the hands-on learning that can be fit into the hours of the school day.

The students have half their day devoted to art, music, and physical education. The other half of the day the students are immersed in Unit Studies; courses chosen from history, geography, science, literature, writing or art. Building model rockets or building bricks for Egypt's Pharaoh are activities you might see on Enrichment Day. These classes run throughout the school year and the topics (or unit studies) change approximately every month.

Why do we do this? We know that each student has interests and gifts that cannot normally be tapped in the regular academic regime. On Enrichment Day each child can be involved in an array of physical activities which allow other talents to be revealed.

Please note: Beginning 2007-08 the components of Enrichment Day will be scheduled throughout the academic week and year rather than on single days.
