Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Programs |
|
|
|
|
Our goal is to foster students’ love for learning through exciting classroom experiences and to help them in their spiritual growth becoming closer to the Lord and understanding His love for them. The Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs are designed to prepare students for the Kindergarten program at Boxford Academy.
The Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs utilize Alpha Omega curriculum with supplemental material.
-
Math: Students are exposed to the numbers 1-50 through a variety of manipulatives, worksheets, finger plays, songs, calendar, counting, etc. The focus is on student competency in recognizing the numbers 1-10, and simple addition and subtraction skills.
-
English: The 26 letters of the alphabet are covered throughout the course of the year. Letter recognition and sounds are learned through phonics, worksheets, manipulatives, story books and songs. Writing is introduced with name writing practice.
-
Bible: The Bible curriculum explores a variety of Bible stories through Scripture reading, songs and chapel. A new Bible memory verse is introduced every two weeks.
-
Motor Skills Development: Students are offered a variety of different activities on a daily basis that will help develop their fine and gross motor skills such as cutting, pasting, drawing, writing, blowing bubbles, playing with clay, etc.
Daily Schedule:
The Preschool (age 3) and Pre Kindergarten programs are daily from 8:30-11:45am. Students must be the appropriate age by September 30 of the year enrolled.
Families can choose one, two, three, four, or five day options
Lunch Bunch (11:45—1:00 p.m.) and AfterCare (11:45—3:00 p.m.) programs are available. While we are offering a program with hours that resemble a daycare program, we are an academically focused program, specifically with the intent of Kindergarten readiness.
